Definition: This travel-friendly electrocardiograph device is used to monitor the heart rate and rhythm while preforming everyday activities.

Example: There are several different types of ambulatory monitors including Holter Monitor, Loop Recorder, Event Monitor, and Trans telephonic Transmitter. Each individual type includes unique features that pertain to the length of recording time. A loop recorder is constantly recording your heartbeat in order to track when you have irregular beating. Event Monitors only record when you are having symptoms of heart problems.
