Bradycardia

Definition: Bradycardia is a condition that causes the heart rate to slow. This can be a serious problem if your doesn’t pump enough oxygenated blood to the body at a normal pace.

Example: The normal adult human heart beats between 60 and 100 times a minute when at rest. If you have bradycardia your heart is beating fewer than 60 times a minute and an implanted pacemaker or other treatments may help to correct it so that your heart beats at the normal rate.
