STOP BLOOD CLOTS, SAVE LIVES – OCTOBER 13th
Thrombosis refers to a blood clot that forms in your artery or vein. This disorder is the sole cause of the world’s top three cardiovascular silent killers. While everyone is familiar with heart attacks and strokes, few people even know about VTE, which is the main focus of today! VTE encompasses both DVT(Deep Vein Thrombosis) – blood clot in the leg, and PE(Pulmonary Embolism) – a blood clot in that travels to the lungs. Not enough people are aware of these blood clots and their life-threatening consequences. Also, many clots go undiagnosed by physicians, are not treated early enough, and as a result many people are dying a preventable death.
